Qatar Development Bank launches the national ‘Binaa’ platform for contractors and consultants
Bank invites Qatar-based contracting and consulting firms to register and seek accreditation before July 2025
Doha, Qatar: Qatar Development Bank, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Finance, has announced the launch of the ‘Binaa’ platform for Qatar-based contractors and consultants in a step designed to streamline the process and boost efficiency when implementing housing schemes. The initiative falls in line with the bank's commitment to supporting housing loan clients and ensuring that projects are developed according to the highest quality standards. The national platform provides contractors and consultants with the opportunity to reach a large client base, and to leverage advanced tools to showcase their previous projects. The platform was designed as an evaluation framework for contractors and consultants undertaking construction projects for housing loan clients. The platform enables consultants to play a key role in terms of preparing inventory tables and stock quantities, which will help in the correct pricing of the project and provide citizens with access sound to financial planning before tasking the contractor with the implementation phase.
As such, the platform facilitates cost comparisons through an electronic system for bidding and matching needs between clients, contractors and approved consultants-- a service that will become available through the platform.
In this context, Mr. Ghanem Salem Al-Yafei - Senior Director of QDB’s Housing Loans Department, said the launch of the national ‘Binaa’ platform marks a milestone in the bank’s endeavors to develop its housing services, and represents an integrated solution that ensures the highest standards of efficiency and transparency. “Through this platform, we seek to provide an integrated interactive environment that enables contracting companies and consulting offices to offer their services and products to clients. This is in line with our work strategy to develop programs and initiatives that benefit and foster national development.”
The ‘Binaa’ platform features several basic characteristics that enhance its effectiveness. Contractors and consultants undergo a classification process to ensure they are qualified to undertake projects before their registration on the platform is approved. Once registered, contractors and consultants may showcase their previous projects, enhancing their opportunity to attract new clients. The platform's system also relies on evaluations and feedback from previous clients, which enables new customers to choose the most suitable contractor or consultant using search filters.
As of June 2025, only accredited contractors and consultants registered on the platform will be allowed to undertake new construction projects for QDB’s Qatari housing loan clients. Registration on the platform will be open to contractors and consultants from around. Housing loan clients will later have access to the platform, which will feature the approved list of contractors and consulting offices in addition to a new set of services.
QDB’s latest initiative falls within the framework of the bank’s keenness to provide the best solutions to support government housing projects and to simplify the process for applicants by providing an approved and reliable list of Qatar-based contractors and consultants. The first phase of the platform’s launch will focus on inviting classified contractors and consultants across Qatar to register.
