Three cooperation agreements signed at Web Summit Qatar to empower startups, foster innovation and accelerate digital transformation


Doha, Qatar: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has signed three strategic cooperation agreements with Microsoft Qatar, Alchemist Accelerator, and Builder.ai, on the sidelines of Web Summit Qatar 2025. The agreements align with QDB’s commitment to fostering Qatar’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, promoting innovation, and enabling startups to expand by leveraging cutting-edge digital solutions. QDB will also build on these partnerships to empower startups to nurture talents and accelerate their digital transformation while enabling entrepreneurs to access global expertise including specialized training programs and expert guidance.

Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, QDB’s Executive Director of Investment and Incubation, said the bank remains committed to advancing Qatar’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by empowering startups and SMEs to stay ahead of rapid technological advancements. “These strategic partnerships with global industry leaders help us deliver on our objectives,” he noted. “Through these agreements, we aim to provide startups in Qatar with access to cutting-edge technologies, expert guidance, and opportunities to expand into regional and international markets. This will help achieve digital transformation and drive Qatar’s economic diversification.”

Ms. Lana Khalaf, Country General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, highlighted how artificial intelligence is reshaping the global economy and enabling innovation to address challenges. Majed Lababidi, Director of Ecosystem Integration at Alchemist Accelerator, said the strategic partnership with QDB strengthens collaborative efforts in identifying and supporting high-potential startups, co-investing, and ensuring they possess the necessary resources, network, and opportunities to flourish. “By joining the QDB Talent Community Program, Alchemist Doha is further cementing its pivotal role in integrating global founders into Qatar’s burgeoning innovation ecosystem.”
